During Ben’s post-graduate study, he was a member of the Sydney University Elite Athlete Program (EAP) and held a sports scholarship at Wesley College for his involvement with Sydney University Cricket Club. He remains heavily involved with the cricket club, regularly playing in their first grade side whilst also advising in a physiotherapy role through The Sports Clinic. Ben values this experience in the elite athlete setting very highly and takes a particular interest in managing athletes striving for elite sporting status.
Since graduating, Ben turned his focus to work in the hospital setting at RPAH where he continued to advance his skills in both acute and chronic injury management. He has developed an excellent skill set in the management of patients with chronic pain, specialising in the areas of lumbar spine, cervical spine and shoulder. He takes pride in his ability to manage patients of all age groups and improving overall life quality.
Now based at The Sports Clinic full time, he will also be the Sydney University Flames Basketball Academy physiotherapist whilst continuing his involvement at Sydney University Cricket Club. Ben recognises the importance of manual therapy during the rehabilitation process and believes a commitment to prescribed exercise combined with appropriate manual techniques is the key to an early return to work, sport or general exercise.
